Stanoxyl is the brand and trade name for the anabolic steroid Stanozolol offered to the market by Kalpa Pharmaceuticals. It is also informally known in slang terms as winny.

It was among the first handful of anabolic steroids created and fast became one of the most popular compounds in use today. Stanoxyl’s popularity is perhaps in the 3rd place among anabolic steroid popularity and use, landing behind Deca-Durabolin and Dianabol.

Unline Deca and Dianabol, WInstrol’s immense popularity did not rise significantly until the 1980s, and especially into the 1990s. The reason for the surge in popularity after 1990 was because of the alleged use of Winstrol by Canadian Olympic sprinter Ben Johnson in the 1988 summer Olympics, which he had supposedly tested positive for.

The origins of Winstrol date back much further, however. In 1959, Stanozolol’s details were first published, and it was not long at this time until Winthrop Laboratories in Great Britain began to manufacture the drug.

Shortly afterwards into the 1960s, Sterling Laboratories in the USA obtained the patent for manufacture, and Stanzolol was then manufactured and marketed on the prescription drug market as Winstrol.

Its approved uses in medicine skyrocketed after this, with its use ranging from appetite stimulation to muscle wasting disorders and diseases.

Over the years, Winstrol’s manufacturing and marketing had shifted and changed hands, with patents currently being held in the USA by Ovation Pharmaceuticals, however none is officially currently manufactured in the USA at this time.

Internationally, it is still manufactured by many different pharmaceutical companies and there are abundant numbers of generic as well as brand name Winstrol products.

Stanoxyl is a very popular compound among bodybuilders and athletes for its ability to promote lean mass without the massive bulk and water retention that is sometimes unwanted.

It can further enhance the ‘ripped’ look of a physique when the body is at low enough body fat levels, unlike other anabolic steroids like Dianabol that tend to put water retention on to the user, and therefore a soft look on the physique.

Stanoxyl, due to its modifications and its nature as a DHT-derivative, is unable to convert into Estrogen at any dose. It also expresses an anabolic:androgenic ratio of 320:30, making it 3.2 times stronger in terms of muscle growth and anabolism than Testosterone itself. It is also theoretically much less androgenic than Testosterone as well.

Kalpa Pharmaceuticals Stanoxyl is available in both an oral form, coming in 10 mg and 50 mg pills, as well as an water based injectable suspension know as Stanoxyl Depot.
